How to Make Money With Avon
1. Keep your Avon money and your personal money separate. Open up a checking account for Avon, only. It is much easier this way to see your profits.
2. Watch and control your personal purchases. If you purchase something for yourself, only do so if you can afford to buy it, bill yourself and write a check to cover the cost, then deposit it in your Avon account. I do take advantage of buying family personal need products including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, make up, lotions, skin care, lip balm, lip stick, etc. as they are a very good buy for our customers, and as an independent sales representative, the price and quality is unbeatable.
3. Don’t do heavy discounts. Avon offers phenomenal sales in every brochure and even without sales, the products are very reasonably priced. A small free gift (lip balm, small hand cream, trial size shampoos, etc.) is a better idea than offering discounts if you want to offer something to your customers. It increases your award sales and introduces your customer to a new product that they may like and begin to order.
4. Pay your Avon bill on time and in advance of the next campaign. As long as you maintain good credit with Avon, your orders will arrive on time, and your customers will be happy. Also, I have found in my early campaigns, by doing this, Avon raised my credit limit twice in my first eight campaigns or so.
5. Write up a breakdown of how your Avon profit will be handled. Example: 10% for business supplies like business cards (not needed, but I like to get free cards and other items from vistaprint.com, with slow shipping) and ink, etc, (this number will go down after you get your customer base built up to your liking), 10% in Rep savings plan, 25% for your long term goals, 50% for your short term goals like paying certain bills or saving for something special.
